Xavi is a Tennessee based artist who has been linking up with the Sacramento, CA hip hop scene. I’m talking literal, as he really flew over to Sactown to work with the artists. Here’s a random recording that went down during his adventures in the CApital with C-Plus. Xavi’s upcoming mixtape, Death of the Backpacker is due in February. The project boasts production from our boy Jonathan Lowell, Chase Moore, SoCrates, Lee Bannon & Rufio. I’m interested to see how Xavi’s southern roots blend with this Northern Californian influence. KidD Steve – Next Best Thing (prod. Jonathan Lowell)

Here’s a cut that didn’t make the final version of KidD Steve’s The Flight To Boston EP, which is understandable due to it being just one verse. The concept is interesting as Steve basically gets bored after spitting one verse about pushing weight & killing fools, saying that it takes barely any effort to execute a verse with that type of content. Would’ve worked as an interlude on TFTB though.
